Excision of Keratoses, Warts or Skin Tags (Up to 5 Lesions): Small Procedures That Add Up

SG Flyer.webp

Keratoses, warts, and skin tags are common benign skin lesions. While often dismissed as “minor,” excising multiple lesions in one sitting is still a medical procedure requiring time, technique, and pathology assessment.

What It Costs

For excision of up to 5 lesions, MOH benchmarks indicate:
• Surgeon fee: SGD 400 – 700
• Anaesthetist fee: SGD 550 – 800
Only one code may be billed per setting, even if lesions are at different sites.

What’s Typically Covered

Coverage depends on indication:
• Symptomatic, bleeding, infected, or suspicious lesions may be covered
• Purely cosmetic removals are usually excluded

Insurance Tip

Ensure the clinical notes justify medical necessity, not aesthetic preference.

Conclusion

Minor lesions can still generate meaningful costs. Insurance interpretation matters.
