Deductible Coverage

Understand how deductibles can lower your premium—and what they mean for your hospital bills.

Choosing a deductible is a smart way for expats in Singapore to balance coverage and cost. But what exactly does it mean?

What Is a Deductible?

A deductible is the annual amount you agree to pay out-of-pocket for hospital care before your insurance kicks in. With MyHEALTH, it applies only to the Hospital & Surgery module.

How It Works

You choose from four deductible levels: SGD 0, SGD 2,000, SGD 5,000, or SGD 10,000. If you select SGD 2,000, for instance, you must pay the first SGD 2,000 of eligible hospital costs each year.

Benefits & Considerations

  • Lower premium for higher deductible

  • Ideal for those with existing basic insurance who need a top-up

  • Annual reset—your deductible refreshes each year
